What is campuschina.org?
Unofficial answer · Sources checked
campuschina.org is Campus China, the China Scholarship Council's "Study in China" website. It publishes the Application Guide for Chinese Government Scholarship, keeps an index of scholarships sorted into six categories, and links to the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System where applications are submitted. This site is not Campus China, is not affiliated with it, and does not accept or process applications.
Who publishes it and what it carries
The guide states that the Chinese government sets up scholarships for students and scholars to pursue higher education or conduct research in Chinese universities, and that the China Scholarship Council (CSC), entrusted by China's Ministry of Education, is responsible for the admission, enrollment and administration of Chinese Government Scholarship recipients. That makes the council the body named in the guide, and the Ministry of Education the authority named as having entrusted it.
The scholarship index on the same site sorts programmes into six filter categories:
- Chinese Government Scholarships
- Local Government Scholarships
- Confucius Institute Scholarships
- School Scholarships
- Enterprise Scholarships
- Other Scholarships
Under the first of these, "Chinese Government Scholarships", the first page of the list shows six titles: the Application Guide for Chinese Government Scholarship, the Guidebook to the ASEAN-China Young Leaders Scholarship, the Youth of Excellence Scheme of China Program Chinese Government Scholarship, the China Link Short-term Scientific Exchange Scholarship Program (2026), the MOFCOM SCHOLARSHIP-CSC Program(Enrollment Guide), and the Chinese Trade Unions Silk Road Scholarship. The index records names only; its own note is that amounts and deadlines sit on each scholarship's own page.
What the application guide says about the scholarship
In "II. Supporting Categories, Duration, Institutions, and Majors", the guide sponsors four supporting categories: undergraduates, postgraduates, general scholars and senior scholars. The scholarship covers both major study and Chinese language (preparatory) study. The language courses last one year; for major study, the guide says only that the duration conforms to that as required, so it gives no fixed number of years for a degree programme.
For institutions and majors, the guide says designated Chinese universities offer scholarship recipients academic programmes in science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, economics, law, management, education, history, literature, philosophy and fine arts, among others, and directs readers to campuschina.org for the list of designated universities and the majors they offer. No individual university is named in the guide text read here.
How an application moves
Section V sets out the process in seven steps:
- Learn about designated universities and their majors on the Campus China website or by other means, and choose the scholarship programme, university and major.
- Reach the designated university for admission documents.
- Reach an application receiving agency for a recommendation.
- Fill in and submit the Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship online through the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System.
- The application receiving agency submits its recommended candidates list and their application documents.
- The CSC organises designated universities and experts concerned to examine applicants' eligibility and academic performance before finalising the short-list.
- The CSC notifies the admission results to the application receiving agency, which then informs the applicant.
The sections of the guide read for this page do not define what an application receiving agency is or name which bodies act as one; for that, ask the university's international student office or the agency you intend to apply through.
What these pages do not say
The guide page carries no publication date and no academic year, so nothing here can be tied to a named intake. The sections read for this page do not state any stipend, tuition or living-cost figure, and they do not state application deadlines. The scholarship index states no amounts or deadlines either. Where the official pages are silent, this page stays silent.
